Neeraj Pandey directed movie ‘A Wednesday‘ was released under the banner of Anjum Rizvi Film Company on September 5th, 2008. The movie is full of thriller and action drama and the lead roles in the movie were played by Naseeruddin Shah, Anupam Kher, Jimmy Shergill and Aamir Bashir whereas the supporting roles were played by Deepal Shaw, Vijay Bhatia, Rajendra Chawla, Snehal Dabi, Rohitash Gaud, Gaurav Kapoor, Seema Malik, Aayam Mehta, Kali Prasad Mukherjee, Veerendra Saxena, Chetan Pandit, Parth etc. The movie was produced by Shital Bhatia, Anjum Rizvi and Ronnie Screwvala whereas the songs of the movie were rendered by Javed Ali, Mahalakshmi Iyer, Shantanu Mukherjee and Toshi. The music was given by Sanjoy Chowdhury whereas the lyrics were given by Irshad Kamil. The screenplay was given by Neeraj Pandey. Movie was a successful one at the box office.

The movie is based on the revenge of a common man (Naseeruddin Shah) who wants to learn a lesson to the terrorists that if he wake up then how he can be dangerous to them. In the begining of the movie, an old age guy who identifies himself as a ‘Common Man’ is roaming around in Mumbai. Later he goes to a police station and files an FIR of his wallet which has been lost in the mid-way. On the other hand, Mumbai Police Commissioner named Prakash Rathod (Anupam Kher) is sitting in his cabin with a Bollywood actor, Ajay Khanna and discussing the threats which he receives from recently. Suddenly he gets a call on his mobile phone from a male who informs him that he has placed several bombs all over Mumbai. Also he asks him to arrange four militants named Ibhrahim Khan (Kali Prasad Mukherjee), Ikhlaque Ahmed (Rohitash Gaud), Mohammad Zaheer (Vijay Bhatia) and Khursheed Lala.

At the first look, it seems to be that he wants these terrorists free. Having no other options, Prakash orders his officer to arrange these militants. Also side by side he orders to trace all calls coming to him. The male also informs him if his demands are not quickly completed then he will explode the whole Mumbai. Then Prakash also calls his one of the best officers named Arif Khan (Jimmy Shergill) who is an ATS Officer. By the time, Cheif Minister (Chetan Pandit) also comes to Prakash and gives him the authority to do what he wants. Later all the terrorists are gathered at one place and then move to the place which he has decided. There he orders Arif to leave them and get away from them but Arif takes Ibrahim Khan with him as a security. But to the shock to everyone, remaining three are blown away in a blast. Prakash is also confused with this and then he tells the truth to him.
