Nikhil Advani directed movie ‘Chandni Chowk to China‘ was released under the banner of R.S. Entertainment on January 16th, 2009. The movie is full of action and comedy drama and the lead roles in the movie were played by Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone and Chia Hui Liu whereas the supporting roles in the movie were played by Mithun Chakraborty, Ranvir Shorey, Roger Yuan, Kiran Juneja, Yuk-Ting Lau, Jun Li, David Firestar, Conan Stevens etc. The movie was produced by Ramesh Sippy, Rohan Sippy and Mukesh Talreja whereas songs of the movie were rendered by Shreya Ghoshal, Ravi Khanvilkar, Kailash Kher, Akshay Kumar, Bappi Lahiri, Shankar Mahadevan, Anushka Manchandani and Neeraj Shridhar. The music of the movie was given by famous trio, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The movie was written by Shridhar Raghavan and the dialogues were given by Rajat Arora. The movie was not so successful at the box office.

The movie is based on a poor guy whose luck changes in an instance when he goes to China. In the begining of the movie, a poor guy named Sidhu (Akshay Kumar) lives a poor lifestyle in Chandni Chowk section of Delhi. He is a lowly vegetable cutter at a roadside food stall. He always wants to get rich through shortcuts and therefore he regularly visits astrologers, tarot card readers and fake fakirs. His foster father and his employer whome he called as Dada (Mithun Chakraborty) always tries to make him believe in himself but in vain. Later he meets two strangers from China who claim him as a reincarnation of a war hero in the past. They want to take him to China but language problem occurs an then comes Chopstick (Ranvir Shorey) who is actually a con-man buddy of him. Both the men tell him in their language and he translates for Sidhu.

He tells Sidhu that they want to take him to an exotic land and feted as a hero. But the truth is something else. Both the men want Sidhu to rid their Chinese village of the vicious smuggler Hojo (Gordon Liu). Later Sidhu goes to China but meets with Sakhi (Deepika Padukone), the Indian-Chinese spokesmodel known as Ms. Tele Shoppers Media, or Ms. TSM on the airport. She also wants to go China in search of her father and a twin sister named Suzy (Deepika Padukone). In China, Sidhu is treated too good but lost his Dada in the first confrontation with Hojo. Then he decides to learn Kung-fu so that he can take revenge of his Dada’s death. Then he meets with a mad man who is actually Chiang Kohung (Roger Yuan), former Police and enemy of Hojo. Then Sidhu learns Kung-fu from Chiang Kohung and gets ready to fight with Hojo. He also defeats Hojo in final fight.
