Hit songs of Kumar Sanu


Bollywood playback singer Kumar Sanu was born in Kolkata on 23rd September 1957. His original name is Kedarnath Bhattacharya but he changed his name to Kumar Sanu. He recieved the Indian Highest Civilian Honours award, Padma Shri Award in the year 2009. He also won the Artist of the decade award at IIFA awards. His father Pashupti Bhattacharjee was also a classical singer and good composer. Kumar Sanu took his singing training from his father. He can also play tabla and infact master at it. He finished his graduation in Commerce from Calcutta University. He started his career in singing by rendering songs in Resturants and at shows in Calcutta in the year 1979. At the start of his career, he tried to copy bollywood famous Playback singer late Kishore Kumar. But later on he created his own style of singing.

He got his first chance in 1987 when music director and singer Jagjit Singh offered him to sing in a movie. The movie named Aandhiyan. After then he shifted to Mumbai. There he meet with Kalyanji-Anandji. They offered him to sing in their movie Jaadugar. They also suggest him to change his name from Kedar Bhattacharya to Kumar Sanu. In 1990 he rendered his voice for the song Tu Meri Jindagi Hai, Ab tere Bin, Sansoo Ki jarurat in the movie Aashiqui. Naadeem-Shravan were the music director, they allowed Kumar to sing all songs in the movie. The song were superhit and made Kumar popular in overnight. Then after he collobrate with Nadeem-Shravan. Some of the hit movies of Kumar Sanu with Nadeem-Shravan are Sadak, Raja Hindustani, Deewana, Saajan, Pardes etc. He also worked with various successful composers including R.D Burman, Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Kalyanji-Anandji, jatin-Lalit and many more.

In 1993 he set up a Guinness World Record of singing 28 songs in a single day. He also won the Fimfare Male Playback singer award for 5 Consecutive years from 1990 to 1994. In 1990 he won for Aashiqui, in 1991 for Sajan, in 1992 for Deewana, in 1993 for Baazigar and in 1994 he won for 1942:A Love Story. In the Sony TV reality serial Waar Parriwar he was in the Judge Pannel. He was also in the Judge panel of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, a Zee TV hit reality singing competetion. He is amongs the most successful and best voice bollywood singers. His few hit songs are Ye Dil Aapka Huwa, Ishq Vishk, Footpath, Qayamat, Andaaz. He also produced a bollywood movie Uthaan.
