Rajiv Rai directed movie ‘Mohra‘ was released under the banner of Trimurti Films Pvt. Ltd on July 1st, 1994. The movie is full of thrill, suspence, crime and action and the lead roles in the movie were played by Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Naseeruddin Shah and Raveena Tandon whereas the supporting roles were played by Poonam Jhawer, Raza Murad, Paresh Rawal, Gulshan Grover, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Priya Tendulkar, Avtar Gill, Tej Sapru, Yunus Parvez etc. The movie was produced by Gulshan Rai and Ajay Shah whereas the songs of the movie were rendered by Kavita Krishnamurthy, Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Sadhana Sargam, Pankaj Udhas and Alka Yagnik. Superhit music of the movie was given by famous Viju Shah and the story and screenplay of the movie were given by Rajiv Rai. The movie was a superhit at the box office and also it was the highest grossing film of 1994.

First of all Divya Bahrti was assigned for the role of Roma Singh but due to her sudden death, the role went to Raveena Tandon. The movie is based on a convict of murder and his life which is devatated by some guys from whome he wants to take revenge. In the starting of the movie, Vishal Agnihotri (Sunil Shetty) is a convict who was imprisoned for the murder of four boys. They had molested his wife’s sister named Rita. Later they wer tried in court and also Vishal tried to get justice but the court fails to give him any justice in absence of any evidence. Later those four guys come to his home and try to molest his wife named Priya Agnihotri (Poonam Jhawer). As a result she kills herself. When Vishal comes to know this, he gets burn in anger and decides to take the whole matter in his own hands and kill all the four. Therefore he is sentenced to prison. On the other side, a young woman named Roma (Raveena Tandon) visits the jail to know about the life of convicts.

There she is grabbed by some convicts who try to rape her but Vishal rescues her. Later Roma listens his story and decides to help him free. Roma is actually a journalist and she publishes this article which gains popularity. This is noticed by a blind and noble businessman named Mr. Jindal (Naseeruddin Shah) who decides to take Vishal under his custody so that he can train him to get rid of anti-social elements in the city. But a police inspector named Amar Saxena (Akshay Kumar) is unhappy with the release of Vishal as he always found Vishal at every murder site. Then it comes to know that Jindal is not blind. He is using Vishal to get rid of his enemies so that he can take number one spot. It is also revealed that it was Jindal who killed Vishal’s parents. Vishal and Amar join their hands against Jindal and also rescues Roma who is abducted by Jindal to marry himself.
