Hit songs of Sanjog


K. Vishwanath directed movie ‘Sanjog‘ was released on November 22nd, 1985. The movie is full of romance and family drama and the lead roles in the movie were played by Jeetendra, Jayapradha and Vinod Mehra whereas tyhe supporting roles were played by Aruna Irani, Asrani, Arvind Deshpande, Agha, Mini Tabassum, Bharati Achrekar, Yunus Parvez, Goga Kapoor, Renu Joshi etc. The movie was produced by P. Mallikharjuna Rao whereas the songs of the movie were rendered by some famous names, Asha Bhosle, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar etc. The music of the movie was given by Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar and Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma. The movie was a superhit of its time and had earned a huge profit at the box office.

The movie is based on a beautiful and attractive woman named Yashodra (Jayapradha) who becomes mad in love of a child when he passes away. In the begining of the movie, Narain (Jeetendra) lives a wealthy lifestyle in Bombay with his parents, brother and his sister-in-law named Lalita (Bharati Achrekar). Lalita is having a son named Sonu (Mini Tabassum) who also lives there. Later one day Narain has to go to a village. On reaching there, he meets with a village belle named Yashodra who looks very attractive to him and later he falls in love with her. After that both have decieded to get married and soon they get married. After the marriage, they move to live in Narain’s palatial house. There Yashodra meets with Sonu and soon both become fast friends. They both used to spend with each other. This gives their bond more strength.

But Lalita is pretty concern with this which results in some acrimony. Later Sonu passes away leaving behind Lalita and Yashodra devastated and depressed. By the time she gets pregnant and gives birth to a baby girl and named her Asha. But it is too hard to forget Sonu and she cannot get Sonu out of her mind. Her depression gives way to insanity, as she keeps on seeing Sonu in every child and as a result she is institutionalized. Whereas Narain starts taking alcohol in a big way and always gets drown in this. Then Asha is adopted by Lalita and his brother. After several years, Asha has now grown up and is herself a mother of a baby boy.She has settled in USA and comes to India to visit her family. Then they all go visit Yashodra. Asha is confused to see Yashodra who is holding a piece of log, covered in a blanket and singing to it as if it is Sonu. There she comes to know about her real parents.
