Shahid Kapoor is a famous bollywood actor who was born on February 25, 1981 in Mumbai, India. His father is also a famous bollywood actor named Pankaj Kapoor and Mother is an actor cum classical dancer Neelima Azeem. Shahid’s parents got divorced when he was only three year old. Shahid can be termed as an allrounder as he is an actor, dancer and model too. After the divorce of his parents, he lived with his mother. He did his schooling from Rajhans Vidyalaya, Mumbai. He also has a sister named Sana and a brother named Ishaan Kapoor. His brother acted with him in the movie Waah Life Ho to Aisi. His grandfather, Anwar Azeem, was a journalist and author from Bihar. Before starting his career as an actor, he worked in several music videos and advertisements, including the Pepsi ad with Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji. Later he joined the Shiamak Davar Institute for the Performing Arts to sharpen his dancing skills.

He started his career by working in music videos and some advertisement films. He made his bollywood debut as a background dancer in Subhash Ghai’s Taal. After struggling for four years, he worked as a leading actor in romantic flick Ishq Vishq in the year 2003, Fida in 2004 and Shikhar in 2005 and his first commercial success came in the form of Sooraj R. Barjatya’s Vivah in 2006. In 2004, he began dating actress Kareena Kapoor, whom he got separated three years later. He got his biggest commercial success with the film Jab We Met in 2007. Since then, he is been considered as one of the most promising actors of the industry. In 2003, he played his first leading role as Rajiv Mathur, a college guy in Ken Ghosh’s love story Ishq Vishq. The following year he worked once again with Ken Ghosh in the romantic thriller Fida. He then did a romantic comedy Dil Maange More with three beautiful bollywood actress opposite to him.

During the middle of 2006, Kapoor went on his first world tour, The Rockstars Concert, along with many Bollywood stars like Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, John Abraham, Esha Deol, Mallika Sherawat and Zayed Khan. In 2004 he got six awards for his first film Ishq Vishq. In 2005 he got Blistex Award for Best Lips - Male. In 2007 he got Sports World Awards, Jodi of the Year for Vivah for her good looking pair with Amrita Rao and in 2008 Annual Central European Bollywood Awards for Best Couple for Jab We Met.
