Shahrukh Khan, the king of the bollywood industry was born on 2nd November 1965 in a Muslim family of Pathan descent in New Delhi. His first name “Shahrukh” means “face of the king”. His father, Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian freedom fighter from Peshawar, British India and his mother Lateef Fatima Khan was a magistrate by profession. His sister name is Shehnaaz. He was brought up in Delhi and completed his schooling from St. Columba’s school, New Delhi, where he was also awarded the ‘Sword of Honor’, essentially the award for best student. He did his graduation degree from Hans Raj College, Delhi University and followed it up with the Masters Degree in Mass Communications from Jamiya Milia Islamiya University. Despite being a Muslim man, he get married to a Hindu woman named Gauri Khan. He and his wife combine both religious backgrounds into their children’s education.

Shahrukh made the starts of his acting career with the help of his friend Vivek Vaswani former bollywood queen, Hema Malini. His debut film was romantic thriller Dil Aashna Hai but due to the delay in the release of the film, Deewana is considered as his debut film. Shah Rukh Khan has won several awards for his outstanding performances in the movies like Darr, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dil To Pagal Hai and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. His latest hit movies are Chak De India, Om Shanti Om and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Right now he is one of the top most actors of the bollywood industry and is known as the King Khan of Hindi Film industry. It is believed that his films produces the amount that has been spent on the them before their release in theatres.

Since the year 2000, Khan also tried his hands in film production and television presenting as well. He is the founder and owner of two production companies, Dreamz Unlimited and Red Chillies Entertainment. He got his Filmfare Best Male Debut Award for movie Deewana in which he co starred with Rishi Kapoor and Divya Bharti. His second movie, Maya Memsaab, created some controversy because of his appearance in an explicit sex scene of the movie. In 1993, he won his first Filmfare Best Actor Award for his performance in Baazigar in which he played the leading role with some gray shades in it. Later, in the year 1995, Khan starred in Aditya Chopra’s directorial debut Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, a critical and commercial success, for which he won his second Filmfare Best Actor Award. In 2004, Khan set up another production company, Red Chillies Entertainment, and produced and starred in Main Hoon Na, another hit and the following year, he produced and starred in the fantasy film Paheli, which did not work well. He was recently seen in the film Billu Barber, in which he played the supporting role opposite Irrfan Khan.
