Hit songs of Sonu Nigam
Renowned bollywood singer Sonu Nigam was born on 30th July 1973 at Haryana, India. His original name is ‘Sonu Niigaam’ but he changed his last name to “Nigam”. He has two sisters, Neekita and Meenal. His father Mr. Agam Kumar Nigam and mother Mrs. Shobha Nigam are also professional singers. His sister Neekita is also a singer by profession and has performed in many stage performances alongwith Sonu Nigam. On 15 February 2002, he got married with Madhurima. His son names is Neevaan, who was born on 25 July 2007. The first song which Sonu rendered at the age of just three with his father was “Kya Hua Tera Wada”, which is one of Mhit song of legendary singer Mohammad Rafi. He was then nicknamed as the copy of Late Mohammad Rafi. Sonu also participated in various singing competetion.
At the age of 19, Sonu moved towards Mumbai to start his singing career in bollywood. “Janam” was his first movie as a playback singer in bollywood but officially movie was not released because of some unknown reasons. Then after, he got another break in, Aaja Meri Jaan, a Gulshan Kumar’s movie. In year 1995, he rendered the song “Accha Sila Diya” for the album, Bewafa Sanam. The song made him a renowned singer overnight and established him as a good playback singer. He then also hosted a TV show named “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa“, which is a singing competetion. The first episode of the show was aired on 1st May 1995. In 1997, he sang “Sandese Aate Hain” for the superhit movie Border. In the same year, he sang another hit song “Ye dil deewana” for the movie Pardes. He the made his own style of singing to prove to the people that he is not just a mere copy of Mohammed Rafi sahab.
The melodious title track of the movie Kal Ho Na Ho was also sung by Sonu Nigam. The song became extremely popular and proved that Sonu has a voice with a lot of emotions. Sonu has rendered several songs for Shahrukh Khan and his voice perfectly suits to King Khan. He also crooned songs in the latest released movies, Yuvvraaj and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. The one more special thing about Sonu is that he can also sing songs in different languages like English, Urdu, Marathi, Kannad, Oriya, Bengali, Punjabi, Telgu and Bhojpuri with clear pronunciation. “Spirit Unfolding” is his upcoming English album. Yaariyan, Three Idiots, Striker and many more are the upcoming movies in which he is doing playback singing.
