An Indian film actress named Meenakshi Seshadri was born on November 16th, 1963 at Sindri in Jharkhand. She is a former Bollywood actress who was very famous in the decade of 1980s and 1990s. She was born as Shashikala Seshadri and has attanded Mount Carmel School. Also her father was an employee of FCI at Sindri Fertiliser plant. She is trained in different types of Indian Classical dances such as Bharatanatyam, Kathak and Odissi. Also she teaches these dances. She is married with Harish Mysore in 1996, who is a software professional. The couple have two children, daughter Kendra and son Sanjosh. Before her marriage, she has rejected the proposal of famous film director Raj Kumar Santoshi. In her career of sixteen years, she has appeared in about eighty Hindi movies. Also she is former Miss India of 1981 when she was just eighteen years of age.

Meenakshi Seshadri started her film career in the year 1982 with the movie ‘Painter Babu‘. She was casted opposite Rajiv Goswami who is the son of legendary actor, Manoj Kumar. The movie did an average business at the box office. Later she starred in another movie titled ‘Hero‘ which was a megahit. She appeared opposite Jackie Shroff in the movie. The movie made her a star and later she started to get several offers. Also she starred later in many movies such as Do Gulab (1983), Love Marriage (1984), Paisa Yeh Paisa (1985), Bewafai (1985), Meri Jung (1985) etc. The movie ‘Meri Jung’ was her another hit movie in which she has given her best performance. Also she was noted for her superhit performances in the movies Vijay (1988), Shahenshah (1988), Ghayal (1990), Damini (1993) and Duet (1994).

The movie Damini was a superhit film which earned ger rave views for the subject, the movie has raised. In the movie, she played as Damini who fights for the woman who has been raped by her in-laws. The movie created a place of her in the industry and also she was nominated in Filmfare Best Actress Award for this movie. Also her hit career continued with the movie, ‘Ghatak: Lethal‘ in 1996. Also she has appeared in different language movies such as Tamil and Telugu. She has also a career as a Bharatnatyam, Kathak, and Odissi teacher/dancer. She is one of the finest dancers in the industry ever to be in any Bollywood films. She has worked with many top rated actors of Bollywood such as Amitabh Bachchan, Jeetendra, Jackie Shroff, Sunny Deol, Rishi Kapoor, Vinod Khanna etc.
