Famous film director named Prakash Mehra directed movie ‘Muqaddar Ka Sikandar‘ was released under the banner of Prakash Mehra Productions on October 27th, 1978. The movie is full of romance and the lead roles in the movie were played by Amitabh Bachchan, Rakhee Gulzar, Rekha and Vinod Khanna whereas the supporting roles were played by Goga Kapoor, Kader Khan, Yusuf Khan, P. Jairaj, Shreeram Lagoo, Sulochana Latkar, Ranjeet, Nirupa Roy, Nandita Thakur etc. The movie was produced by Prakash Mehra whereas the songs were rendered by Asha Bhosle, Mahendra Kapoor, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar and Mohammad Rafi. The superhit music of the movie was given by famous duo Kalyanji-Anandji and the story was given by Laxmikant Sharma. The screenplay and dialogues were given by Vijay Kaul and Kader Khan respectively.

The movie is based on a romantic love story of a guy who has to decide for his love or his friendship. In the begining of the movie, an orphan named Sikandar (Mayur Verma) who is a young boy lives on the streets in Shimla. He has no one to take care of him and later he gets some work in the house of Mr. Ramnath (Shreeram Lagoo). He has a young daughter named Kamna who later becomes the friend of Sikandar. He feels very pleased as nobody has given him this much of respect which she has. Shortly, Ramnath leave Shimla for Bombay and Sikandar also follows them there. There a young widow named Fatima (Nirupa Roy) adopts him as his son. Fatima is working for Ramnath in his house. Later at Kamna’s birthday party Ramnath mistakes Sikandar for a thief and has him thrown out which Fatima opposes.

But she too gets thrown out of the house while little Kamna turns against Sikandar and wants to have nothing further to do with him. After that Fatima gets died leaving behind him. At the grave of his mother, he meets a Darvesh (Kader Khan) who advices young Sikandar how to deal with the realities of life. Sikandar understands the reality of life and works hard grows up to be a wealthy and respected young man. Here Kamna and her father becomes poor and also she has to work hard for her father’s medicines. But what she does not know is that Sikandar has been helping her all along by paying for her handicapped father’s medical bills. Later he meets a young gu named Vishaul (Vinod Khanna) who is a lawyer as well as a prostitute named Zohra Bai (Rekha) who falls in love with him. But a vengeful lover of Zohra, named Dilawar (Amjad Khan) declares Sikandar as his enemy. The story takes a turn when Sikandar finds Kamna in the arms of Vishal who has become his friend.
