Songs of Abhishek Bachchan
Abhishek Bachchan is a famous superstar of Indian film industry. He was born on February 5th, 1976 in Mumbai, India. Abhishek is the son of Angry young man of bollywood Amitabh Bachchan and actress Jaya Bachchan. He is the grandson of famous hindi poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. He has one elder sister named Shweta Nanda. Abhishek has done his schooling from Jamnabai Narsee School and Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai. Then he took admission in Modern School in Delhi and later studied from Aiglon College, Switzerland. Finally he completed his studies from Boston University. But due to some reasons he had to left it and came India to start acting in films. In 2000, Abhishek made the debut of his acting career from the film Refugee. In the film Kareena Kapoor was opposite to him. This was Kareena’s debut film also. For Refugee, Abhishek was nominated for Filmfare Best Male Debut award.
After Refugee, he worked in several other films, which were declared flops at box office. Some of these films include - Tera Jaadu Chal Gaya, Dhai Akshar Prem Ke, Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai etc. After such disasterous films, he was seen in Mani Ratnam’s Yuva in the year 2004. He played the character of criminal goon ‘Lallan Singh’. His performance in Yuva was much appreciated by the critics. In the same year, he acted in bollywood action film Dhoom where he played the role of ACP Jai Dixit. In Dhoom his co stars were - Rimi Sen, Uday Chopra and John Abraham. The film created his good image in the industry. After this film, Abhishek got much popularity for his nice performances in the films like - Bunty aur Babli, Sarkar, Dus, Bluffmaster etc. For his awesome performance in Ram Gopal Verma’s Sarkar, Abhishek was nominated in the Best Actor category in Filmfare awards. In 2006, he was seen in Karan Johar’s Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. The film was based on the family relationships of married couples. It was declared as the highest grossing film of the year. His next film of the year 2006, Umrao Jaan, failed to do nice business at the box office. After this flop film, he was seen in the next film of Dhoom Series - ‘Dhoom 2‘. His performance again as ACP Jai Dixit was liked by many people.
On January 14, 2007, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai publically announced their engagement. Before engaged to Aishwayra, in the year 2002, it was also announced that Abhishek Bachchan and actress Karisma Kapoor got engaged. But due to some private reasons, this engagement was called off in January 2003. Abhishek married to Aishwarya on April 20, 2007. He was next seen with his wife in the film Guru. The film became much hit and his performance was again acclaimed by the people as well as by the critics also. His next film was Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, which was not much succeeded at the box office. In the middle of the year 2008, he was seen in the Bachchan’s Unforgettable Tour. He has peformed there with his fellow performers - Preity Zinta, Ritesh Deshmukh, and Madhuri Dixit. In the same year, he acted in Sarkar Raj which was the sequel of the film ‘Sarkar’. In this film, his wife and his father were the co stars. Abhishek’s recent releases are Dostana (2009), which is a romantic comedy movie and Dilli - 6 (2009) which is a romantic flick with co star Sonam Kapoor. Though the film could not do a nice business at the box office, songs of the film were liked by the people.
