One of the very famous and versatile bollywood actor named Anupam Kher is famous for his unique style of acting. He is an acclaimed and award winning actor of the hindi film industry. He was born on March 7th, 1944 at Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Apart from his bollywood career, he has also worked in several British, American and Chinese films as well. Anupam Kher’s marriage with his first wife was broken and later he married with Kirron Kher and has a son named Sikander Kher who has made his acting debut in Sanjay Gupta’s movie. Anupam has two brothers named Raju Kher who is a television actor and also a director who has directed ‘Om Jai Jagadish‘ in 2002. His second brother has worked in the Zee TV drama ‘Hamari Batiyoon Ka Vivah’. Also Anupam has turned to a director and producer in his later career. He first acted in ‘Aagman’ in 1982 and that was his debut in the film industry. The movie went unnoticed with his performance but he never gave up.

After two years in 1984, he once again appeared in the movie ‘Saaransh‘. He played as B.V. Pradhan, a late-age retired person having lost his son. The movie proved to be a hit and he never looked back since then. In his early career, he has done many comic roles but later switched to villain roles for which he got critical acclaim. His role in the year 1986 movie ‘Karma’ was proved to be a stonemile in his career as he played as terrorist Dr. Dang. After three precious years, in 1989 he once again gave his performance in ‘Daddy’ for which he also was applauded and got a National Film Award - Special Jury Award for this film in 1990. He has also raised his named in the field of comedy. He has starred many times with bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan in several movies such as Darr (1993), Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995), Chaahat (1996), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000) and Veer-Zaara (2004).

His debut movie as a producer was ‘Om Jai Jagdish’ in 2002 which was directed by his own brother, Raju Kher. Later after three years he also produced and acted in ‘Maine Gandhi Ko Nahi Mara’ and also got the Best Actor Award from the Karachi International Film Festival for his performance in the film. Apart from his bollywood career he has worked in some international films such as Bend It Like Beckham (2002), Bride and Prejudice (2004), The Mistress of Spices (2006) and Lust, Caution (2007). Also he has alongwith his batchmate Satish Kaushik started a new film production company named ‘Karol Bagh Productions’ in which their first film, ‘Tere Sang’ is being directed by Satish Kaushik. He has won Filmfare Best Comedian Award for Lamhe, Khel, Darr and Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge in 1991, 92, 93 and 95 respectively. Also in 1984 he won Filmfare Best Actor Award for Saaransh.
