Songs of Anuradha Paudwal
Bollywood’s one of the most successful singer, Anuradha Paudwal was born on 27th October 1954. She finished her graduation from Xavier’s College, Mumbai. Her husband Arun Paudwal was the assistant of music director S.D.Burman. Her career started in the year 1973 from the movie Abhimaan starring Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bhaduri. She rendered her voice for “Shloka” in the movie. She also did her Marathi song debut from the movie Yashoda. She got her first break as a playback singer in year 1976 in the movie Kalicharan starring Shatrugan Sinha and Reena Roy. After then for the first time she rendered her voice for a solo song composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal from the movie Aap Beti starring Shashi Kapoor and Hema Malini. She had also worked with various composers including Rajesh Roshan for movie Des Pardes, Usha Khanna for movie Souten, Sajan Bina Suhagan, Kalyanji-Anandji for movie Vidhataa and many more. She rendered various songs for marathi movies. Some of her memorable marathi songs are Raja Lalakaari, Disate Majalaa for Ashtavinaya and Kaalyaa Maatita Maatitaa. Most of the marathi songs she had sung were composed by duo Anil and Arun.
She had rendered her voice for various classical songs too. Anuradha also accepts the fact that she had never took any training for rendering classical songs. To improve her voice she practised various classical songs sung by Lataji. Though she was not much popular in bollywood at that time but she made her popularity in marathi industry. Some of the hit movies in marathi industry for which she rendered her voice are Mumbaicha Fauzdar, Ashtavinayak, Devta, AssaNavra Nako Ga Bai, Ash Hi Banwabanwi and many more. She crooned the songs for the movie Hero which starred Jackie Shroff in lead roles. The collabration of Anuradha’s with Laxmikant-Pyarelal made her popular in bollywood industry. But she ended her collaboration with them by singing the songs for Gulshan Kumar’s movie Tezaab. Then after she had sung various songs for hit movies like Aashiqui, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahi, Lal Dupatta Malman Ka and many more.
In 90s she was on the peak of her career, where she sung various songs with Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan, Abhijeet, Sonu Nigam. She also remained in controversies for some time as well beacuse of which various music director move away from her. After the death of her husband, she also triggred in rumors for having an affair with Gulshan Kumar. But she denied that news. At the peak of her career, she announced that she will sing devotional songs with T-Series only. Then after she released music and videos of her devotional songs. After five years she once again started singing songs for bollywood movies. Music directors Anu Malik and Jatin Lalit used her voice in various movies. Some of the songs were directed by Anu Malik for the movies Mela, Hum Apke Dil Mein Rahte Hain for which she rendered her voice. She had won various awards for her singing. In 1985 she won the Filmfare Female Playback Singer award for the movie Utsav. She also won various awards for movies like Aashiqui, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, Beta. She also won the Filmfare Female Playback singer awards for three consecutive years 1990 t0 1992. In 1990 she won her first award for Marathi Film Kalat Nakalat.
