Songs of Baghban
Ravi Chopra directed movie ‘Baghban‘ was released under the banner of B.R. Films on October 3rd, 2003. the movie is full of romance and family drama whereas the lead roles in the movie were played by Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini and Paresh Rawal and the supporting roles in the movie were played by Lillete Dubey, Sharat Saxena, Salman Khan, Mahima Chaudhry, Aman Verma, Suman Ranganathan, Samir Soni, Divya Dutta, Saahil Chadha, Arzoo Govitrikar etc. The movie was produced by B.R. Chopra and Ashwani Chopra whereas the songs of the movie were rendered by Amitabh Bachchan, Alka Yagnik, Sudesh Bhosle, Udit Narayan, Sukhwinder Singh etc. The music of the movie was composed by famous Adesh Shrivastava and Uttam Singh whereas the story was given by B.R. Chopra. Screenplay and dialogues were given by Satish Bhatnagar and Achala Nagar respectively.
The movie is based on the family drama of seperating parents in their old ages. In the begining of the movie, an old aged man named Raj Malhotra (Amitabh Bachchan) who has worked in a bank as an accountant, lives a wealthy lifestyle alongwith his wife named Pooja (Hema Malini) and four sons. They have been married for over forty years now. Also they have adopted an orphan by the name of Alok (Salman Khan) who has also grown up and currently is studying in foreign. Not only this, they have made several sacrifieses for their own children to make them a successful man in life. Now three of their sons are leading a married life and one is still bachelor. All of his sons are living apart and seperate from each others in various places. One day after his retirement from the bank, Raj asks his wife about their children and hopes that soon they will come and look after them.
Soon all comes to their home and decide to look after each of them in turns of six months. Also Raj has to live seperate from Pooja according to thier son’s will. Later both of them get seperate and are forced to live with two different families. Raj hopes that some day his children will understand his pain but in vain as they also start to neglect them. Later one day Raj meets with Hemant Patel (Paresh Rawal) while on jogging in a park who later becomes his best friend. Hemant runs a coffee shop in the town alongwith his wife named Shanti Patel (Lillete Dubey). Soon he comes to know about Raj’s pain of seperating from his wife and he curses his son’s. Later Raj calls Pooja to meet at the Vijay Nagar railway station. Later they meet and go for a walk in the town where they take a test-drive of a new car. But later they are humiliated by the salesman (Gajendra Chouhan). Raj is shocked and full of pleasure when he sees his another son, Alok who also slaps the salesman. Now the story takes a new turn after entering Alok in their life.
