Vivek Sharma directed movie ‘Bhootnath‘ was released under the banner of B.R. Films on May 9th, 2008. The movie is full of fantasy drama and comedy and the actors in the lead roles were Amitabh Bachchan, Juhi Chawla, Aman Siddiqui and Shahrukh Khan whereas the supporting starcast were Satish Shah, Rajpal Yadav, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Nina Kulkarni, Delnaaz Paul, Aashish Chaudhary, Shaana Diya, Nauheed Cyrusi, Achyut Potdar etc. The movie was produced by B.R. Chopra, Ravi Chopra, Kapil Chopra and Kenedy Bakshi whereas the songs of the movie were rendered by Amitabh Bachchan, Aparna Bhagwat, Juhi Chawla, Koushtuv Ghosh, Hariharan, Armaan Malik, Sukhwinder Singh, Shravan Suresh etc. Superhit music of the movie was given by Vishal-Shekhar and background score was scored by Salim-Suleiman. Screenplay and dialogues were given by Sudhanshu Dube and Vivek Sharma.

The movie is based on love and affection of a child for a ghost who later becomes his best friend. In the starting of the movie, Aditya Sharma (Shahrukh Khan) is an Engineer on a cruise line. He lives with his wife, Anjali (Juhi Chawla) and a young but naughty son, Aman (Aman Siddiqui). Soon he decides to shift in Goa where his job becomes more easy and there they get a bunglow to live in on rent. The name of that bunglow is ‘Nath Villa’ which is very famous for its haunting stories in the nearby locality. The family is made aware that Nath Villa which was built in 1964, is haunted but they refuse to accept this and also shifted there soon. Now Aditya has to enroll his son to a school which he does. Aman gets admission in St. Francis High School where he meets the Principal of there, J.J. Irani (Satish Shah) who is an interesting kind of person. Then Aditya returns to work.

Now Anjali and Aman are left behind and also she has a lots of work to do i.e. she has to shift all the furniture and miscellineous to its place and for this, she needs help of someone. She hires a drunken thief, Anthony (Rajpal Yadav) as a helper to clean the house. But his work is disturbed by the ghost, Kailash Nath (Amitabh Bachchan) and he runs away. Here naughty Aman is reprimanded by his Principal and later Anajli is called in the school. Later Aman starts talking about an angel whom he called as ‘Bhootnath’ but Anjali does not believes him. During a stage performance at his school, he takes the same get up which Bhootnath does. A local resident (Delnaaz Paul) tells Anjali that Aman is wearing the same dress which Kailashnath used to wear when he was alive. Later Anjali believes Aman and also tells Aditya who soon comes here. Then they come to know the whole story of Kailashnath and decide to do all rituals so that he can get free.
