Priyadarshan and Kookie V. Gulati directed movie ‘Chup Chup Ke‘ was released under the banner of UTV Motion Pictures on June 6th, 2006. The movie is full of comedy, drama and romance and the lead roles in the movie were played by Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal whereas the supporting starcasts included Om Puri, Rajpal Yadav, Sushma Reddy, Shakti Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Manoj Joshi, Amita Nangia, Asrani etc. The movie was produced by Ronnie Screwvala whereas the songs of the movie were rendered by Sunidhi Chauhan, Kunal Ganjawala, Shreya Ghoshal, Akriti Kakkar, Kay Kay, Tulsi Kumar, Sonu Nigam, Himesh Reshamiya and Vijay Yesudas. The superhit music of the movie was given by Himesh Reshamiya. The story and the screenplay of the movie was given by Priyadarshan and Kookie V. Gulati whereas the dialogues were given by Neeraj Vora. The movie has done good work on the big Screen.

The story of the movie was based on a young man named Jeet (Shahid Kapoor) who lives with his family. His father Jaidev Prashad (Anupam Kher) was very abset from his son because he has taken a lot of money from their village people for the business but unable to establish any business and takes himself in poor condition. He is unable to return back the money of the money-lenders and due to this Jeet’s father receives harassing calls from them. Jeet was also very tense from these things and decides to get suicide because he thinks that the insurance money is the only solution of all these problems which his family got from the insurance company after his death. Now, at one day he attempt sucide in front of villagers and said them about the plan. But, he was lucky enough because he got himself alive after some hours and found himself on a boat with another two very interesting character of the movie Gundya (Paresh Rawal) and his servant Bundya (Rajpal Yadav).

Later both Bundya and Gundya thought of lots of money in the place of saving his life but they finds himself in lots of trouble after knowing jeet’s muteness and deafness. Now jeet found himself in trouble when Prabhat Singh Chauhan (Om Puri) takes him and Bundya as a servant boy in return of Gundya’s boat. He falls in love over there with a beautiful girl named Shruti (Kareena Kapoor) who is also mute like Jeet but later in the movie she knew everything about Jeet through
her cousin sister Meenakshi (Neha Dhupia). Her brother Mangal (Sunil Shetty) decides to get them married but Jeet’s first love Pooja (Sushma Reddy) came back into his life who called himself Jeet’s widow after the news of Jeet’s suicide attempt and want to marry with him but sacrifices her love for Shruti and jeet got married with the deaf and mute girl Shruti in the presence of their family.
