Songs of Deewana Mastana


A very famous comedy film director named David Dhawan directed movie ‘Deewana Mastana‘ was released under the banner of M.K.D. Films Combine on September 23rd, 1997. The movie is full of comedy, action and romance and the lead roles in the movie were played by Anil Kapoor, Govinda and Juhi Chawla whereas the supporting starcast included Anupam Kher, Johnny Lever, Reema Lagoo, Saeed Jaffrey, Upasna Singh, Himani Shivpuri, Avtar Gill, Shiva Rindani, Satish Kaushik etc. The movie was produced by Ketan Desai and Prakash Pange whereas the beautiful songs of the movie were rendered by Kavita Krishnamurthy, Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam, Vinod Rathod and Alka Yagnik. The music was given by famous duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal whereas the story, screenplay and dialogues of the movie were given by Anees Bazmee. The movie did a good business at the box office.

The movie revolves around two guys named Raj Kumar (Anil Kapoor) aka Raja and Bunnu (Govinda). Raja is a small crook who sells railway tickets on the black market at Amirpur station alongwith his friend named Ghafoor (Johny Lever). But there is not such a profit in this through which he can make his standard of living high. So he decides to switch some other ways of earning money and therefore one day he alongwith Ghafoor and a police inspector named Mhatre (Avtar Gill) robs a sum of rupees two and a half million from the railway treasury. Later Raja and Ghafoor play thier trick and leave the inspector and run away with the loot to Bombay. When he is at Bombay airport, there he meets a beautiful and charming lady named Neha (Juhi Chawla) who is actually a psychiatrist. He falls in love with her in first sight and later find out where she lives.

Then they decide to meet her and for that Ghafoor pretends to be a psychiatric patient while Raja takes on the name Raj Kumar and brings him to her. He becomes friend of her and tells her that he has just returned from US. Ghafoor alerts Raja not to hurry and be patient in matters of love. Soon another guy named Bunnu is sent to Neha for treatment because he terrified of fire, heights, running and water. Bunnu is the son of a wealthy father named Birju (Anupam Kher). Soon he also falls in love with her and later comes to know that he has a rival in the form of Raj. One day Neha alongwith her father named Chander Nandkishore Kapoor Sharma (Saeed Jaffrey) has to leave for Ooty for a wedding ceremony of her uncle (Shakti Kapoor). She does not leave behind any address but is shocked to see Bunnu and Raj in Ooty. Then she take care of Bunnu rather than Raj which he does not like. Later Ghafoor tries to kill Bunnu and also Bunnu contacts contract killer Pappu Pager (Satish Kaushik) to bump off Raja.
