Dostana is a super hit blockbuster movie which was released on November 14, 2008. The movie is directed by Karan Johar’s assistant, Tarun Mansukhani and Karan Johar himself was the producer. The main stars of the movie are Abhishek Bachchan as Sameer, John Abraham as Kunal and Priyanka Chopra as Neha. Other stars of the movie are Bobby Deol, Boman Irani, Kirron Kher and Shilpa Shetty. The singers of this movie are Vishal Dadlani, Shankar Mahadevan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Saleem, Amanat Ali, and Shreya Ghoshal and Shaan while Vishal Dadlani & Shekhar Ravjiani are the music directors. Dialogues of the movie were written by Anvita Dutt Gupta. Dostana was the first Bollywood movie to be filmed entirely in Miami, United States.

Dostana is a story about two guys, Sameer ( Abhishek Bachchan ) who is a nurse and Kunal ( John Abraham ), who is a professional photographer. They both were looking for an apartment and unfortunately moved towards the same apartment. They both were thrown out by the owner of that apartment as she wants to rent it only to a woman, since her niece, Neha ( Priyanka Chopra ) stays in that apartment alone. Now Sameer gets an idea to live in that apartment that if Kunal and he pretend to be gay lovers than they can live in that apartment. They do so and got the room initially. After sometime they and Neha become good friends. On a day Neha’s boss M, short for Murli ( Boman Irani ) announces that he is resigning his job and in order to impress him, Neha invited him for dinner telling him that she will introduce him to her gay room mates. As the dinner was going on Sameer’s mother stepped in and she got shocked by knowing that her son is a gay. Next day Neha’s boss announced Abhimanyu Singh ( Bobby Deol ) as the next editor-in-chief. Kunal, Sameer and Neha then together work out a difficult project given by Neha’s boss to her and after the success of that project Neha becomes a hit at her office. Pleased with her success Abhimanyu appoints her as co-editor in chief of Verve. Both Kunal and Sameer realises that they are in love with the Neha.

On seeing that she likes Abhimanyu, they both decided to eliminate him from her life. They tell Abhimanyu to do completely ridiculous things in order to impress Neha (like asking him to wax his chest hair off and wear an outlandish dress), but their plan doesn’t work for long. After some time Neha meets veer, son of Abhimanyu. Again Sameer and Kunal try to make Veer hate Neha. The next day Neha comes to know that Abhi is going to propose her at Basketball game. Both of them ask her not marry him and reveal that they aren’t gay and are in love with her. Then she asks the guys to leave his house. After some time they all meet at an office party. Sameer ask her that when they are going to marry. Neha tells him that they broke up because Veer wasn’t comfortable with her. Then they both told the truth that they had made the Veer angry with her. Then both the guys get on the stage and beg them to forgive them. Abhimanyu then asks them to kiss each other, the guys adamantly refuse to do it when Abhimanyu says that since they are very fond of being gay, it is the only way they can be forgiven. They both refuse to do that but when Neha and Abhi started walking towards the exit they both forcibly kissed each other. Abhi gets shocked and tell Neha the guys are really her best friends, as he wouldn’t do that not even for her. Neha goes to them and they make up. Then they both ask Abhi on their knees to marry Neha and he says that he will. After two months Neha, Sameer and Kunal are sitting in their apartment balcony and Neha asks them if they ever had any feelings for each other during the time they were pretending to be gay. Sameer and Kunal look at each other and remember their disastrous kiss, and walk away.
