Songs of Govinda
Govinda is an award winning superstar of bollywood industry. He was born as Govinda Arun Ahuja on 21st December 1963. He is also famous by his nick name Chi Chi among his friends and family members. He has appeared in over 100 bollywood films. His great acting and dancing skills made him very popular in the industry. Govinda’s father was an actor in the decade of 1940s. He had appeared in some some movies like Aurat in 1940. Her mother, Nirmala Devi was a classical dancer and actress. Govinda completed his studies from Annasahb Vartak College in Vasai, Maharashtra. He then did his graduation in the Commerce stream. Due to the lack of perfection in English speaking, he failed to get a perfect job and hence also rejected from steward’s position at the Taj Mahal hotel. Then his father suggested him to join film industry.
Govinda is very passionate about dancing and acting. He made the debut of his career with the film titled Tan Badan. The film was directed by his uncle Anand. After this film, he signed his next film Love 86 in the year 1985. Govinda actually got fame from the superhit film Ilzaam which was released in the year 1986. This film was listed in the top five films of the year 1986. The song ‘ I am a street dancer ‘ from the film Ilzaam established him as the new rocking dancer of bollywood industry. Soon, people became fan of his dancing skills. In the decade of 1980s, he made a superhit pair with beautiful actress Neelam and appeared in many action, romantic bollywood films like Love 86, Ilzaam, Khudgarz etc. Govinda then started working with director David Dhawan in the year 1989. Their first film together was Taqdeerwala and it was an action thriller.
In the middle of 1990s, he became much popular for his awesome performances in some comedy and actions films like, Shola aur Shabnam in the year 1992, Aankhen in 1993 etc. Govinda made an awesome on screen jodi with actress Karishma Kapoor. This bollywood pair has given many comedy hit films to bollywood. Some of their famous films are Raja Babu, Coolie No 1, Sajan Chale Sasural, Hero No 1, Haseena Maan Jayegi etc. He won many awards for his great performance in comic roles. The decade of 2000s was not much lucky to him. During this period, he did some flop films like Ssukh, Khullam Khulla Pyar Kare. In the year 2004, he won the seat for the Member of Parliament from Mumbai North. After a very long peroid of time, he came with his comedy film Bhagam Bhag in the year 2006. The film also starred Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal as the leading actors. The movie did well at the box office. He was next seen in the multistarrer romantic flick Salaam e Ishq in the year 2007. But this film proved to be a box office disaster. Govinda’s recent hit was Partner with co stars Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Lara Dutta. The film was directed by David Dhawan in the year 2007.
