A very famous comedy film director named David Dhawan directed movie ‘Haseena Maan Jaayegi‘ was released under the banner of Rahul Productions on June 25th, 1999. The movie is full of comedy, action and family drama whereas the lead roles in the movie were played by Sanjay Dutt, Govinda, Karishma Kapoor, Pooja Batra, Kader Khan and Anupam Kher whereas the supporting starcast included Paresh Rawal, Satish Kaushik, Aruna Irani, Ashish Vidyarthi, Aashif Sheikh, Razak Khan, Mohan Joshi, Pushpa Verma, Bindu etc. The movie was produced by Smita Thackeray, Prashant Thanawala and Prakash Pange whereas the songs of the movie were rendered by Sudesh Bhonsle, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Shankar Mahadevan, Sonu Nigam, Kumar Sanu, Poornima, Hema Sardesai etc and the music was given by Adesh Shrivastava and Anu Malik. The story and screenplay of the movie was given by Imtiaz Patel.

The movie is about two sons who are always attempting to extort money from their hapless father and this leads to some hillarious situations. Sonu (Sanjay Dutt) and Monu (Govinda) are two hansome guys and son of Seth Amirchand (Kader Khan) who is very wealthy. He always lives in tension as his both sons are good for nothing and also they always play tricks with their father attempting to extort money from him. One day both of his sons plans to blackmail their father and demands a ransome of a big amount. But later he comes to know about the trick and gets very angry with his sons and throws them out of the house. Soon both Sonu and Monu come across his father who call them up and announces his decision which really makes Sonu and Monu shocked. He decides to separate them by giving them some responsibilities of his business. Amirchand sends Sonu to Goa where he has to recover his loan from a party.

He goes to Goa but unfortunately meets to the wrong party in Goa and antagonizes the family of Verma’s. This family consists of Gulzarilal Verma (Anupam Kher), his sister named Santho (Aruna Irani) who is still unmarried and two daughters named Pooja (Pooja Batra) and Ritu (Karisma Kapoor). There Sonu meets Pooja and falls in love with her and also challenges the family that he is going to marry Pooja by any means possible. Later he calls Monuto act as his Paternal uncle. He also pretends as his uncle and falls in love with Ritu but what he does not know is that Santho has also developed a crush on him. Here an underworld don, Bhai (Ashish Vidyarthi) demands money from Amirchand but he ridicule him, thinking that this is another prank playing by his sons. Bhai has sworn to avenge this humiliation. Here when Monu comes to know about Santho, he decides to kill the character of uncle in an accident to get rid of her.
