Songs of Hero No.1


Famous film director David Dhawan directed movie titled ‘Hero No.1‘ was released under the banner of Puja Entertainment on February 21st, 1997. The movie is full of comedy and family drama and the lead roles were played by Govinda, Karisma Kapoor, Kader Khan and Paresh Rawal whereas supporting cast included Satish Shah, Tiku Talsania, Anil Dhawan, Master Omkar Kapoor, Rakesh Bedi, Himani Shivpuri, Shagufta Ali, Rita Bhaduri, Prachi, Shakti Kapoor etc. The movie was produced by Khemchand Bhagnani and Vashu Bhagnani whereas the superhit songs of the movie were rendered by Alka Yagnik, Poornima, Vinod Rathod, Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan and Sonu Nigam. Music was given by famous duo Anand-Miland and the movie was written by Rumi Jaffery. This movie was declared a superhit and had earned huge revenue at the box office.

The movie revolves around two lovers named Rajesh Malhotra (Govinda) aka ‘Raju’ and Meena Nath (Karisma Kapoor). Raju is living a wealthy life with his father Dhanraj Malhotra (Kader Khan) who is very punctual. But Raju is careless and always listen bad words from his father although Dhanraj loves Raju very much as he is the only son of him. Then one day when Raju comes to the office, his father who has decided to get him married, sends him a photograph of an ugly girl and orders him to marry her which Raju does not want to do. After not seeing any other way, he decides to run away from his home far away from his strict father and hence flees to Europe. On the airport, he meets with Meena Nath who is also going to Europe alongwith her aunt named Shannu (Himani Shivpuri). She has got the scholarship from her college and her grandfather named Dinanath (Paresh Rawal) allows her rejecting the plea of his daughter-in-laws.

Later Raju and Meena frequently collides throughout the journey. Shanno likes Raju and decided that he the is best groom for Meena but seeing their confrontation, she keeps silent. Meena leaves the hotel in anger and later does not get any room in any other hotel. Raju asks her to adjust in his room but she refuses. Later she falls in love with Raju. Here his father also comes to Europe and soon finds him. He patches up with his father who agrees to go to Meena’s house to ask her hand in marriage. Unfortunately, when he is going to meet Dinanath, on the way they meets an unfortunate quarrel without knowing each other’s true identity. When he reaches to his home, Dinanath identifies him and on asking for marriage he refuses to give Meena’s hand with Raju. The only way Raju sees is to become the servant of that house and win the hearts of the family members which he does.
