Songs of Irrfan Khan
A very famous and prominent actor in Bollywood industry named Irrfan Khan was born on November 30th, 1962 at Jaipur in Rajasthan. He was born as Sahabzade Irrfan Ali Khan and now known popularly as Irrfan Khan. He was born into a Muslim Nawab family and later studying for his M.A. degree when he earned a scholarship to study at National School of Drama (NSD) in New Delhi in 1984. He married with Sutapa Sikdar who is a writer and also a NSD graduate. The couple has a son named Babil. He is also a famous name in television and theatre as he has given many blistering performances there. Later in the year 1987, he moved to Bombay to become a star and also acted in numerous television serials like ‘Chanakya‘,’Sara Jahan Hamara’ ‘Banegi Apni Baat’ and ‘Chandrakanta‘ (Doordarshan), ‘Star Bestsellers’ (Star Plus), Sparsh etc.
He started to make himself established by starring in the serials for different production houses and channels. He was offered a role in the movie by Mira Nair and then he started his film career in the year 1988 with the movie ‘Salaam Bombay‘. He played a cameo in the movie though his role was edited out in the final film. Later in the year 1991, he once again starred in the movie ‘Ek Doctor Ki Maut‘ which was critically acclaimed and also in 1998, ‘Such a Long Journey’. He appeared in several movies which went unnoticed in his starting career. After many unsuccessful movies, his luck shined and he starred in a lead role in the movie ‘The Warrior’ in 2001. The film changed his stars and later he became a known face worldwide. From then on, he appeared in several hit movies such as ‘Maqbool‘ in 2004 and ‘The Killer’ in 2006.
The movie ‘Maqbool’ was critically acclaimed and also his performance in the movie. There he played a lead role opposite Tabu and Pankaj Kapur. The movie was an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Also in the same year, he won the Filmfare Best Villain Award for his role in film Haasil. His main lead role in a movie came in 2005 with the movie ‘Rog‘ where he played as an Inspector who has fallen in love with a woman who has been murdered. But the movie was not so successful. Thereafter he appeared in several films either playing the leading role or a supporting role as a villain. His luck again changed and he starred in a box office hit movie ‘Life in a Metro‘ for which he received a Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award. From then, he has appeared in many hit movies such as Krazzy 4 (2008), Slumdog Millionaire (2008) and New York (2009).
