Kunal Deshmukh directed movie ‘Jannat‘ was released under the banner of Vishesh Films on May 16th, 2008. The movie is full of crime, drama and romance and the lead roles in the movie were played by Emraan Hashmi and Sonal Chauhan whereas the supporting starcasts included Shakeel Khan, Sameer Kochhar, Vishal Malhotra, Vipin Sharma and Javed Sheikh. The movie was produced by Mukesh Bhatt, Vishesh Bhatt and Kumkum Saigal whereas the songs of the movie were rendered by Kamran Ahmed, Rupam Islam, Kay Kay, Neelesh Mishra, Rana Muzumdar, Sayeed Qadri, Richa Sharma and Sandeep Shirodkar. The superhit music in the movie was given by Kamran Ahmed and Pritam Chakraborty. The story and the screenplay of the movie was given by Vishesh Bhatt. The dialogues of the movie were given by Sanjay Masoom. The movie did a good work on the big screen.

The story of the movie is based on Gambling and love. Movie begins with a gambler named Arjun (Emraan Hashmi) who is very lazy person. He makes money by playing card games and also invest his money in small gambles. Once, when he was in South Africa for his quest. There he meets with a young girl in a mall named Zoya (Sonal Chauhan) and attaracts towards her. He starts to follow her in the mall wherever she goes. He gives a ring to her which is a symbol that he is in loves with her and also he starts thinking of moving away from his ordinary life. He wanted to become rich for the women he loves so much. And for that he raises a step from playing small cards game to the big gambles and becomes a bookie. After becoming an bookie, he moves towards mafia for earning more and more money in an easy manner.

Later, in the movie he started to invest his money into the world of match fixing. Firstly, he invest his money in small amount as well as at low risk. But, once he got profit in that he started to move limelight to bigger, faster, more, easier and better. He comes in the eyes of police by playing lots of gamble on match fixing. Now, he has to choose between his most beautiful love Zoya and his new success and the power of mafia. But he is struggling to choose between the two and at the same time Don of mafia offers him the forbidden apple of lots of wealth at the place of his soul and takes him towards the mafia again which attracts him again towards the money. After sometime, he wants to leave everything for her love Zoya but the decision of Arjun which is to say good bye to the gambling world but it is too late for him and he loses his life.
