Songs of Mika Singh
A very famous Bollywood playback singer, Mika Singh was born on June 10th, 1977 at Durgapur in West Bengal. He is most famous for his bhangra and pop singing. He was born as Amrik Singh to the Punjabi family of Ajmer Singh Chandan and Balbir Kaur. His father is a trained classical musician of the old school whereas his mother was also aware of folk music. He was born in the family of six children and he is the sixth child in the family. His elder brother named Daler Mehandi is also a very famous playback singer in the Bollywood. He started learning music from his childhood and also started to play Tabla at the tender age of eight. After four years later when he was of twelve years of age, started to play harmonium and guitar when he was fourteen. He was a kirtan singer at his starting career.
Mika was also involved in the controversy when he kissed Rakhi Sawant at his birthday party in June, 2006. He made his debut in the industry with the superhit song “Sawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag” which he sang in the album ‘Sawan Mein Lag Gayee Aag‘ in the year 1998. Later he gave many hit albums such as Ishq Brandy, Something Something, Gabru and Dunali. He is a singer of different approach who has always made the song very interesting to listen. One of his most famous and superhit song “Ganpat” from the movie ‘Shot Out At Lokhandwala‘ in the year 2007, became a rage in the country. He got famous over night in the country. Another hit song which became very popular was “Singh Is King” from the movie ‘Singh Is King’ in the year 2008. He has recorded for several music directors in the industry such as Pritam Chakraborty and many more.
The song “Dil Tod Ke Na Jaa” from the movie ‘Pyaar Ke Side Effects‘ which he sang in the year 2006 was also a superhit. He has also sang some superhit songs such as “O Yaara Dhol Baja Ke” from the movie Dhol (2007), “Dil Tod Ke Na Jaa” from Pyaar Ke Side Effects (2006), “Oye Lucky Lucky Oye” from Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! (2008) etc. He is also credited with a hit song ” Mind It ” from comedy film Quick Gun Murugun which was released in September, 2009. Apart from his playback singing, he has also taken part in a couple of reality shows like Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and Jhoom India. The movie ‘Jab We Met’ in the year 2007 in which he sang the superhit song “Mauja Hi Mauja” and also the song “Apun Ke Saath” in ‘Mission Istanbul’ in 2008.
