Songs of Raja Babu
Bollywood’s comedy film director David Dhawan directed movie ‘Raja Babu‘ was released under the banner of Sapna Arts on January 10th, 1994. The movie is full of comedy and the leading starcast includes Govinda, Karisma Kapoor and Shakti Kapoor whereas the supporting stacast includes Aruna Irani, Gulshan Grover, Prem Chopra, Kader Khan, Sameer Khakhar, Beena Banerjee, Arun Bakshi, Shashi Kiran, Sudhir etc. The movie was produced by Nandu G. Tolani whereas the songs in the movie were rendered by Abhijeet, Poornima, Udit Narayan, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Kumar Sanu, Vinod Rathod, Jolly Mukherjee and Anand. The music of the movie was given by famous duo Anand-Milind and Amar Haldipur. The story and screenplay of the movie was written by K. Bhagyaraja whereas Anees Bazmee gave the dialogues of the movie. The movie was a box office success and collects a huge revenue.
In the movie, there lives a Singh family consists of Kishan Singh (Kader Khan), his wife named Janki (Aruna Irani) and his son named Raja Babu (Govinda). But there is a secret which only Kishan and Janki know and it is that Raja is not their real son. They adopted him when they found him laying on the stairs of the village temple. As the couple is childless they provides him love and care. Now Raja has grown up and becomes Raja Babu who is a typical country bumpkin, good-hearted but lacking in manners. He has a servant named Nandu (Shakti Kapoor) who always be with him like his shadow. Raja has every bad habbit and also he is illiterate and always roaming on his bike with Nandu. One day he goes to a studio for his photograph where he sees a photograph of a girl named Madhu (Karishma Kapoor) and instantly falls in love with her. Here Kishan Singh had finalized Raja’s marriage at his childhood.
Raja advertises her photograph in the newspaper saying she is a mad woman and gives wrong address under the advertisement. Later Madhu comes with her goons, humiliate and abducts that person. On the way she is attacked by Raja’s villagers and then comes Raja who has taken the get-up of Dharmendra. He fights and saves Madhu and later goes to her home where her father (Vikas Anand) welcomes him. Soon both falls in love with each other and Raja tells his parents about his love. Kishan goes to Madhu’s father and the marriage is arranged. Then Madhu comes to know that Raja is illiterate and she publically humiliates Kishan Singh for this. The marriage breaks and it is then Raja comes to know that he is not the real son of them. But he feels very bad for Kishan and breaks with Madhu. Also Raja’s marriage is fixed with a senile young woman. Then movies takes several twists and turns.
