Bollywood superstar and very famous actress, Raveena Tandon was born onOctober 26th, 1974 at Mumbai, Maharashtra. She was born to the family of Ravi Tandon and Veena and her name is an amalgamation of her parents’ name, Ra-Veena. She has a brother named Rajiv Tandon and has a cousin name Kiran Rathod who is a South Indian actress. She studied at Jamnabai Narsee School in Juhu at her childhood and later attended Mithibai College to become graduate but she only completed her first and second years at the college as she got her first film offer from Shantanu Sheorey which she accepted. She is a National Film Award winning Indian actress and also producer and a former model. Apart her bollywood career, she also has appeared in a few Tamil and Telugu language movies as well. Raveena is linked with superstar Akshay Kumar but soon they broke up. Then she got engaged with Anil Thadani in November, 2003 and married on February 22nd, 2004.
She has two children named Rasha, her daughter, who was born on March 16th, 2005 and her son named Ranbir, born on July 12th, 2007. Also she has adopted two children named Pooja and Chhaya as a single mother in the 1990s. Having a look to her bollywood career, she started in the industry in 1991 when her first movie titled ‘Patthar Ke Phool‘ hit the box office. The movie was proved to be a hit and she won a Filmfare Lux New Face Award for her performance in the film. Later in 1992, 93 she starred in some of the commercially hit movies such as ‘Parampara’ (1992), ‘Ek Hi Raasta’ (1993), ‘Divya Shakti’ (1993), ‘Dilwale‘ (1994), ‘Aatish’ (1994) etc. She was shot to fame with the movies ‘Andaz Apna Apna‘ and ‘Mohra‘ in 1994. In latter movie she starred alongwith Akshay Kumar and Sunil Shetty. Her third hit of the year was Dilwale in which she played as Sapna.
But her later career suffered a set back when some of her movies did not goes well at the box office. She starred with Shahrukh Khan for the first time in Zamana Deewana in 1995 which also proved a box office flop. Her career was back on track with some hit films like ‘Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi‘ (1996) and ‘Ziddi‘ (1997). She also starred in the comedy movie ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ in 1998 co-starring Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda turned out to the second biggest hit of the year. She was approached the second lead role in ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ but she neglected it and the movie went on to be the biggest hit of 1998. In late 1990s, she appeared in Shool (1999), Bulandi (2000) and Aks (2001) for which she was highly acclaimed. She won Filmfare Special Performance Award for her performance in Aks. Her movie ‘Daman: A Victim of Marital Violence‘ in 2001 got him National Film Award for Best Actress.
