A famous Bollywood actor named Ritesh Deshmukh was born on December 17th, 1978 at Latur City in Marathwada, Maharashtra. He is son of Vilasrao Deshmukh who is a former Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He attended G. D. Somani High School and Kamala Raheja School of Architecture in Mumbai and completed his studies. Later he moved to New York City after graduation where he worked as well as studying acting at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. He started his acting career in the year 2003 with the movie ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam‘. He appeared with Genelia D’souza in the movie but the movie was average at the box office and he did not able to mark his steps in the industry. Later in the same year, he once again starred in the movie ‘Out of Control’. Again the movie was unable to do well at the box office. But he was shot to fame when he appeared in the hit comedy movie ‘Masti‘ in 2004.

Again he acted opposite Genelia which established him as an actor. After the success of the movie, he worked in another film titled ‘Bardaasht’ in the same year in which he played the role of younger brother of Bobby Deol. He has changed his name to Ritesh Deshmukh after the release of ‘Masti’. He is very popular for his comic roles though he is able to do some serious roles. Most of his movies are of comedy genre such as Kyaa Kool Hai Hum (2005), Malamaal Weekly (2006), Apna Sapna Money Money (2006), Heyy Babyy (2007), De Taali (2008), Dhamaal (2007) etc. Also he has done supporting roles in the movies such as Bluffmaster! in 2005 while the lead role was played by Abhishek Bachchan. The year 2006, came up with his movie titled ‘Darna Zaroori Hai’ in which he played a small role. He has given his guest appearance in one of the comedy movies, ‘Namastey London’ in 2007.

The same year, he appeared in several other movies including ‘Cash‘ which was a box office failure. But his movie ‘Heyy Babyy’ was proved to be successful in which he appeared alongside Akshay Kumar and Fardeen Khan. The movie ‘Dhamaal’ was a hit in which his acting was appraised. His first movie of 2008 was ‘De Taali’ which was a flop at the box office. But he was appraised for his performance in the movie. He was also awarded the Zee Cinema Entertainer of the Year Award in 2008. He has worked with several superhit and established Bollywood actors such as Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Ajay Devgan, Fardeen Khan, Paresh Rawal, Om Puri, Aftab Shivdasani etc. Soon he is going to appear in his upcoming movies titled ‘Do Knot Disturb‘ and ‘Aladin‘ in 2009. His 2010 movie ‘Rann‘ has also completed and is about to release.
