Bollywood hot babe Shilpa Shetty is one of the famous actress and a celebrity. She was born on June 8th, 1975 at Mangalore to the family of Surendra and Sunanda Shetty, the manufacturers of tamper-proof caps for the pharmaceutical industry. She has a younger sister named Shamita Shetty who is also a bollywood actress. She has done her schooling from St. Anthony Girls’ High School which is in Chembur. Later she attended Podar College in Matunga. She is very talented as she has learn Bharatanatyam dance as well as she is a black belt in Karate. Also she speaks several other languages at differing levels, including English, Kannada, Marathi, Hindi, Tamil, Gujarati, Telugu, Urdu and basic French. She is considered among the tallest actresses in Bollywood having the height of 5 feet 10 inches. Shilpa Shetty started her career in 1991 by modelling for Limca at the age of just sixteen.

She has made her film debut in the year 1993 in the superhit movie ‘Baazigar‘. Her role in that film was of Seema who was murdered by her psychopathic boyfriend. She has also nominated for Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award. Apart from her supporting role, she got her first leading role in 1994 with the movie ‘Aag‘. But the movie was proved to be average at the box office. But she was shot to fame with her next movie which was titled ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari‘ in the same year. The movie was superhit in which she acted opposite Akshay Kumar. But her later career took a downfall as her later movies were average to poor performers at the box office. In 1994, she starred in ‘Aao Pyaar Karen’ alongwith Saif Ali Khan followed by ‘Hathkadi’ in 1995. But both the movies were average. Then comes her very busiest year, 1997 as she appeared in six different films including Telugu film ‘Veedeva Dani Babu’.

Also in 1997, she acted in ‘Auzaar‘ which was her first major Bollywood film. She once again appeared in 1998 with the movie titled ‘Pardesi Babu’ which was critically acclaimed and also got Bollywood Movie Award for Best Supporting Actress. But her real magic spreads in the year 2000 where she appeared in blockbuster movie ‘Dhadkan‘ alongwith Akshay Kumar and Sunil Shetty. Later in 2000s she appeared in Rishtey (2002), Garv (2004), Dus (2005), Shaadi Karke Phas Gaya Yaar (2006), Life In A… Metro (2007), Apne (2007) and Dostana (2008). She was a contestant of Celebrity Big Brother, UK and later she won it. Her stardom raised in the bollywood industry after winning the reality show Big Brother. She has won ‘Diva of the Year’ by Sahara One Television viewers and in 2007, Rajiv Gandhi National Quality Award.
