One of the famous playback singers in the Bollywood named Shweta Pandit has sung many superhit songs in several movies. She was born on July 6th, 1986. She was born into the family of Vishwaraj Pandit who is also famous for his classical music. He has trained her daughter in the Mewati gharana of classical music alongwith Pandit Pratap Narayan. Her grandfather, Pandit Pratap Narayan was also a well-known classical vocalist. Not only this, she is the niece of well-known music directors Jatin-Lalit. She has two elder siblings, a sister named Shraddha Pandit who is also a famous playback singer and a brother named Yash Pandit who is a bollywood and television actor. She got her starting education from Utpal Shanghvi School in Mumbai and later went to Mithibai College in Mumbai to complete her graduation.

Shweta Pandit started her music career when she was just four years of age. She first sang any song as a playback singer for music director Ilayaraja who is a famous music director in Tamil. She sang for the movie ‘Anjali’ which was directed by Mani Ratnam in 1990. Later she got her first and major break through in the Bollywood industry when she was offered to sing five songs for the superhit movie ‘Mohabbatein‘ in the year 2000. She was then just twelve years of age. In the movie, she sang “Pairon Mein Bandhan Hai”, “Chalte Chalte“, “Aankhein Khuli Ho” and “Soni Soni” which became popular among the audiance. After four years, in 2004 she launched her first music album ‘Main Zindagi Hoon‘ with Virgin Records. Her other albums include Aplam Chaplam - the Star Mix featuring Superstar, Salman Khan in the Music Video.

Before the year 2000, she has also sang for several movie but as a child artist. Some of her movies in which she has given her voice are Nishana (1995), Saaz (1998), Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat (1997), Dil Kya Kare (1999) and Raju Chacha (2000). Also she has sang in Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai (2002), Soch (2002), Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage (2002), Haasil (2003), Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), Nayee Padosan (2003), Gayab (2004), Rudraksh (2004), Naach (2004) etc in her later career. She has recorded for some very prestigious music directors in the industry such as Jatin-Lalit, Salim-Sulaiman, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Rajesh Roshan etc. Also she has her contribution in the very popular Disney Film, High School Musical part 1 & 2 in the Indian released version. She has also won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer for a Telugu movie ‘Kotha Bangaru Lokam’ in 2009. She has featured on the cover of Rave Magazine in 2008 as one of the youngest achievers in bollywood music.
