Sweet Sonam Kapoor was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India on 9th June 1985. She is the elder daughter of famous dashing bollywood actor Anil Kapoor. Her grandfather name was Surinder Kapoor, who was the renowned filmmaker of his time. She has two siblings, one sister and one brother. Her sister Rhea is studying in New York while her brother Harsh is in Chapman University in Orange. She is the elder one from her Rhea and Harsh. She studied in University of East London. Then she completed her graduation in Political Science and Economics form University of Mumbai. Beside being an actor she is also a very good dancer too and she can dance both type of classical and Latin forms.

She started her acting career opposite chocholaty hero Ranbir Kapoor in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s romantic flick Saawariya. The movie was released in the year 2007. The movie failed to do good ate the box office and was considered as one of the biggest flop of the year. However she was admired for her acting and sweet look in the movie. Before stepping into action shoes she also worked as the assistant of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Her next movie was Delhi-6 opposite Abhishek Bachchan. It was directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The movie was released in the year 2009. The movie was an average at the box office but Sonam was highly appreciated her role in the movie. She was admired by audience as well as critics for her consecutive girl next door look in the film. Critic Rajeev Masand gave good reviews for the acting skills of Sonam.

Come On Pappu is her upcoming movie in which she is starring opposite the bollywood action hero Akshay Kumar. The movie is to be a comedy flick and will show the comic talent of Sonam for the first time. The movie is being directed by the ace comedy flim maker David Dhawan. Recently, Sonam’s father, Anil Kapoor, won severeal parise for her performance in the oscar awar winning movie titled Slumdog Millionaire. He made a brief appearance in the film and won rave reviews from critics for it. She was linked up with Ranbir Kapoor after the release of Saawariya. But the speculations stops when Ranbir announced publicly that he is romantically involved with another actress named Deepika Padukone.
