Songs of Sonu Kakkar


Very famous bollywood playback singer named Sonu Kakkar, was born at Rishikesh, Utrakhand. She has a very prominent voice which attracts the listeners. Her love for singing was first seen when she was just five years of age and from that age she also started her singing career. She was first involved in singing in Hindu devotional gatherings such as Jagarans, Chowkis etc. Then after sometime, her parents moved to New Delhi alongwith her. Once she was performing at a music contest where bollywood famous music director named Sandeep Chowta was also present. He first noticed her magic of her voice and also swa that all the listeners were attracted towards her. She is follower of famous Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan who was also a legend of his time and her inspiration.

Later she was called in Mumbai where she can find a way in singing and pursuing her career in music. Soon she got the chance to sing the very famous song “Babuji Zara Dheere Chalo” from the movie Dum in 2003. The song became most popular song which was played in every party. The bollywood industry has now introduced with a new singing star. She was later got several offers to sing similar type of songs. This was her ladder of success and after that she never looked back. Sandeep Chowta also believed her and she spread the magic of her voice in a non-film album called Mitti. She sang the song “Call of the Lover - Sun Charkhe Di” which was an emotional and heart winning song. This song helped her in establishing as a talented singer in the industry.

In the year 2003, she got a chance to sing in the movie ‘Boom’ in which she sang the song “Saanwaria” for which she also got critically acclaimed. Her song “Shaadi Se Pehle Honeymoon” in the movie ‘Kis Kis Ki Kismat’ in 2004 was a seductive song. Some of her other seductive songs are “Tauba Tauba”, a dance number in Ram Gopal Verma’s Naach and an item number in the movie Sheesha directed by Guddu Dhanoa and composed by Sen brothers. Apart from hindi music, she also sang sufi songs in album called ‘Channa vey‘. Her style is not limited in any way and she always tries to experiments with the new range of songs. Also she has recorded for some famous music directors such as Harry Anand, Sheizwood Ashish, Anu Malik, A R Rehman, Rajesh Roshan, Anand Raj Anand and Talvin Singh.
