One of the prominent bollywood actress named Sridevi was born on August 13th, 1963 at Tamil Nadu. She was born to the Naidu family which was settled in a village near Sivakasi where her father Ayyapanwas a lawyer and her mother’s name was Rajeswari. Also she has a sister named Srilatha and two step brothers named Satish and Anand from her father’s previous marriage. On June 2nd, 1996 she married Boney Kapoor who is a well known film producer and elder brother of bollywood actor Anil Kapoor. Boney and his first wife Mona Shourie Kapoor had accommodated Sridevi in their home during Sridevi’s stay in Mumbai. She has two daughters named Jhanvi and Khushi. She is the sister-in-law of Anil Kapoor with whome she has done many movies. Her father died while she was filming the movie ‘Lamhe‘ and when she was filming ‘Judaai‘, her mother also passed away. she lit the pyre for her mother’s last rites.

Sridevi started acting from her childhood as a child artist in many of the Tamil movies. Her first ever movie was a Tamil movie ‘Kandhan Karunai’ in 1967 where she played as Lord Muruga. Later she acted in many other language movies such as Telugu and Malayalam movies. Before coming to thebollywood, she has played in many successful movies with Kamal Hassan and Rajinikanth such as Dharmayuddham, Priya, Pokkiri Raja, Thanikattu Raja, Meendum Kokila, Nan Adimai Illai, Guru, Sankarlal etc. She started her career in bollywood in the year 1978 when she starred in ‘Solva Saawan’. The movie got good reviews and she was also noticed. Later she acted in ‘Himmatwala‘ with Jeetendra in 1983. Same year she starred in a drama movie ‘Sadma‘ with Kamal Hassan. It was that time when she was shot to fame for her brilliant performance in the movie. Also the film earned Sridevi her first Filmfare nomination for Best Actress.

Again with her co-star Jeetendra, she starred in Justice Chowdhary, Jaani Dost, Mawaali, Maqsad, Tohfa and Nagina in late 1980s. Also she starred in some superhit movies of that time mainly are Karma, Aakhree Raasta, Ghar Sansar, Mr. India, Chaalbaaz, Lamhe etc. Also she has acted with superstars Govinda, Mithun Chakraborty, Sunny Deol, Anil Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor etc. In 1991, the superhit movie ‘Lamhe’ earned her a second Hindi Filmfare Best Actress Award. The movie was followed by ‘Khuda Gawah‘ next year in 1992. In the movie she played double role as a pining Afghan wife opposite Amitabh Bachchan. She also won her fifth Filmfare nomination. She appeared for the final time with Rishi Kapoor in the movie ‘Kaun Sacha Kaun Jhootha’ in 1997. Later she took retirement from the industry and returned to the small screen with a serial ‘Malini Iyer’ (2004-2005). She got Filmfare Best Actress Award for Sadma, Chandni, Khuda Gawah, Judaai, Gumrah and Laadla.
