Songs of Sudesh Bhosle


One of the prominent playback singers named Sudesh Bhosle is very famous in the film industry due to his exceptional voice quality which spreads the melody all around. He has a unique style of singing which he is using from starting of his career. He was born to the family of N.R.Bhosle and Sumantai Bhosle having a musical background. His mother was an All India Radio artiste in Mumbai while his maternal grandmother was a well-known classical singer. Whereas his father was very famous for his paintings of film posters. He also has got the natural gift of mimicry from an early age. His mimicry mainly consists of some very famous person’s voice such as Amitabh Bachchan, Rahul Dev Burman, Ashok Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Raj Kumar, Om Prakash, Asrani etc. As music was Sudesh’s life, therefore he joined Melody Makers which was a leading stage orchestral group.

One day Sudesh mimicked the late R.D.Burman in a song. At that time legendary Asha Bhosle was also present there and she cannot believe that he has mimicked so well. She noticed him and requested him to tape the song which he did. Later Asha played that song in front of Rahul Dev Burman who even cannot believe that someone can copy him as same as he is. Therefore he decided to give him a fair chance to show his hidden talent. Later Sudesh got his first break as a playback singer in the bollwood industry in 1988 where he sang the songs in the movie titled ‘Zalzala‘. In that film, he sang the song based on Holi alongwith Shailendra Singh and Anuradha Paudwal. Later in the same year, legendary singer Kishore Kumar passed away and then he got a chance to sing for Bappi Lahiri in the movie ‘Waqt Ki Awaz’. Next year in 1989, he sang all the songs of Amitabh Bachchan in the movie.

Also he improved his mimicry quality to become a professional dubbing artist and dubbed for many artists such as Sanjeev Kumar and Anil Kapoor. He dubbed for Sanjeev Kumar after his sudden death before completing the film ‘Professor ki Padosan’. Again in 1991, he once again sang all the songs picturised on Amitabh Bachchan in the movie ‘Hum‘. But the turning point of his career was the song “Jumma Chumma De De” which he sang for Amitabh in Ajooba. The song became superhit and he was shot to fame. Later he got many proposals to sing for Amitabh Bachchan in various movies. In 1998, once again he became popular when he sang “Sona Sona Dil Mera Sona” from the movie Major Saab. Apart from his cinema career, he has also appeared as a judge in a singing contest named ‘K For Kishore’ on Sony Entertainment Television. He has also done a private album of Saigal’s songs called Naina.
