Songs of Suzanne D’Mello


One of the famous and prominent Bollywood playback singers is Suzanne D’Mello who is popularly known as Suzie Q or Suzi Q in the industry. She is very famous for her Western singing style and having a unique voice. She has several hit songs under her belt including songs from films such as Slumdog Millionaire, Singh Is Kinng, Ghajini, Golmaal Returns, Dhoom 2, Partner and Awarapan which became superhit for their story as well as songs. She has sung for many reputaed music directors such as A.R. Rahman, Pritam and Sajid-Wajid. Apart from being a playback singer, she has also written lyrics of the songs in the movie ‘Apna Sapna Money Money’ which was released in 2006. She has written lyrics of the song “Paisa Paisa” in the movie and also sang the same song which proved to be successful.

She has sung many hit songs such as “Hibbaki” in ‘The Killer’, “You’re My Love” in ‘Partner‘, “Meow” in ‘Golmaal Returns’, “Aye Bachchu” in ‘Ghajini’ and many more. One of her songs, “”Mahiya” in ‘Awarapan‘ was composed by a Pakistani artist named Annie and directed by Pritam Chakraborty. Her pairing with the music director Pritam Chakraborty is fruitful and gives melodious results. That song was highly appreciated by everyone and also Suzanne herself admires on that song. One most imporatnt thing about Suzanne is that she always focuses her aim in her eyes and never gets disrouted. Havin these qualities, she once again came with a superhit song “Dil Laga Na Diljale Se Dil Jal Jayega” from the movie ‘Dhoom:2‘ in 2006. Again the music was given by Pritam Chakraborty amd Salim Merchant.

That song created a rage among the nation and she was also admired. She continue her trip of success in the movie ‘Partner’ which was a superhit movie. There she gave her melodious voice to the song “You’re My Love” which was directed by Wajid Ali. Later she continued to move on the road of success and soon once again came with another hit song “Jee Karda” from the movie ‘Singh Is Kinng‘ in 2008. She was shot to fame with the song and continued her success in 2008 last release, ‘Ghajini’ in which she rendered her voice to the song “Aye Bachchu”. She got the real success when she sang “Latika’s Theme” and “Dreams on Fire” in the Oscar winning movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ in 2009. She lent her voice to many successful actresses such as Katrina Kaif, Lara Dutta, Aishwarya Rai, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.
