Bollywood’s one of the successful singer, Abhijeet was born in Kanpur, India. He was born in a middle class family and has four siblings. He is married to Sumaati and they have two sons. His full name is Abhijeetu Bhattacharya. He took singing as his career, against the permission and wishes of his parents. He is now one of the prominent singer of bollywood industry and also known as the voice of Bollywood King, Shahrukh Khan. He finished his secondary from Ram Krishna Mission Higher Secondary School, Kanpur. He finished his 12th from BNSD Inter college Chunni ganj, Kanpur. He left his home to become a CA in 1981. But he always wanted to make a career in singing, so he left CA and started her singing career in Mumbai. He got his first break by Rahul Dev Burman. He rendered his voice for Dev Anand’s son. He also sing a song in the film with Kishore Kumar, who is his idol.

He became popular after sinbing in the film Baaghi. He rendered his voice for the songs Ek chanchal shokh hasina, Har kaam se badi hai and Chandni raat hai. The songs were composed by Anand-Milind. He was on the peak of career in 1994, when he sung songs for the movies like Main Khiliadi Tu Anari, Yeh Dillagi, Raja Babu. After then he never looked back. He was among top three singers in 90s with Kumar Sanu and Udit Narayan. In 1997 he won his first Filmfare Playback male Singer Award for the movie Yes Boss. He also gave hits in the form of the movies DDLJ, Chalte Chalte, Josh, Baadshah, Main Hoon Na, Dhadkan. In maximum of these movies he rendered his voice for King Khan. He also rendered his voice for other hit actors in bollywod including Anil Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Sunil Shetty, Saif Ali Khan, Sunny Deol and many more. He also worked in few TV reality shows. Star Voice of India was a singing competition and he was among the Judge pannel. He was also in the Judge Pannel of the reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. The show was aired on Zee Tv, this show was only for the child singer.

He also released his own album Tapori No. 1 and Main Deewana Hoon. Unluckly he failed to achieve the same success with these albums. Then he released his next album Lamhe and Tere Bina. These two albums did very well and the songs from lamhe were chartbuster. He won various awards in his career. He was honoured by Uttar Pardesh Gaurav Samman. He won Screen-Videocon Award for the song Chand Tare from the movie Yes Boss. He also won MTV Life Time Achievement award. Advocate Rizwaan Siddue charge a case against Abhijeet in May 2009 for commenting on Muslim religion. In a concert he left the stage just because he was to sing with the pakistani singer. But then also he is one of the top most singer in the Bollywood Industry.
