Akshay Kumar is consider as one of the dynamic actor of the bollywood industry. Akshay was born as ‘Rajiv Hari Om Bhaita’ on September 9th 1967 in Amritsar, Punjab. His father was a government employee. Akshay has spent his childhood and youth life in the famous Chandni Chowk of Delhi. He did his schooling from Don Bosco school and spent his college life at Khalsa College. After the completion of his studies, he went to Bangkok and there he practiced and learned Martial Arts. He had also worked as a chef in Bangkok. Then he retur to India and arrives in Mumbai. He started his career as a model. Akshay was then offered a role of a lead actor in the romantic film Deedar opposite Karishma Kapoor by the director Pramod Chakraborty. On January 14, 2001, he got married with the beautiful actress Twinkle Khanna. Their son name is Aarav and he was born on September 15, 2002.

Akshay made the debut of his acting career from the film Saugandh which was directed by Raj Sippy. The film was released in the year 1991 and it did an average business at the box office. First success in Akshay’s career came in the form of the action flick Khiladi, which is a thriller film directed by Abbas Mustan. Khiladi was released in the year 1992 and this film titled Akshay as the Khiladi person of bollywood. After doing some action roles in the films like Sabse Bada Khiladi, Mohra, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, Main Khiladi Tu Anari, he became famous as the action star of the bollywood. It was also at that time rumoured that Akshay was involved in affairs with his co actresses like Raveena Tondon and Shilpa Shetty. After doing many films with the action image, Akshay then started to act in some dramatic and romantic films like Dil to Pagal Hai, Dhadkan, Ek Rishta. Akshay’s performances in these films were also appreciated by the critics and people.

Year 2000 onwards, he came up with some very good comedy roles. In comic series, he worked in many films like, Hera Pheri, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Heyy Baby, Garam Masala etc. His performance in such comedy movies was highly praised by the people. In the year 2001, Akshay played a negative role in the film Ajnabee for which he won Filmfare best Villian award. In his entire career, Akshay has won several awards under different categories. He has also been awarded by Padma Shri Award for his great contribution to Indian Cinema. He got his first filmfare best actor award for the film Ye Dillagi. In present time, he has been awarded for the best actor category for the movie like Namaste London and Sing is Kinng. Akshay has also given his voice in an animated film Jumbo.
