Harmesh Malhotra directed movie ‘Dulhe Raja‘ was released under the banner of Eastern Films on July 10th, 1998. The movie is full of comedy, action and family drama and lead roles in the movie were played by Govinda, Raveena Tandon and Kader Khan whereas supporting roles were played by Prem Chopra, Mohnish Bahl, Johnny Lever, Asrani, Anjana Mumtaz, Guddi Maruti, Sudhir, Anil Nagrath, Rana Jung Bahadur, Dinesh Hingoo, Viju Khote, Ghanshyam Rohera etc. The movie was also produced by Harmesh Malhotra whereas the songs of the movie were rendered by some famous names - Sonu Nigam, Jaspinder Narula, Ram Shankar, Udit Narayan, Anuradha Paudwal and Vinod Rathod. The music of the movie was given by famous duo Anand-Milind whereas the story and acreenplay of the movie were given by Rajeev Kaul and dialogues were written by Anwar Khan. The movie was a comedy hit at the box office.

This is a comedy movie featuring comedy superstar Govinda as Raja who is the owner of a restaurant or dhaba. He has opened his restaurant in the premises of a five star hotel named Maharaja International. The owner of the hotel does his best to remove Raja from his premises but all in vain. So he has sold his hotel at a cheap price to another multi-millionaire named K.K. Singhania (Kader Khan). After buying this hotel, Singhania is quite happy without knowing that Raja’s restaurant is located in his place. When he comes to know about this he confronts Raja on a meeting which was arranged by the Hotel Manager named Bankhey (Johnny Lever) who is always on the side of Raja. Raja warns Singhania that his bad time has now started. The battle between Singhania and Raja leads to hilarious situations. Every trick of Singhania goes opposite to him as he sends some men to beat Raja but they end up beating Singhania.

Second time he tries to demolish the dhaba with a bulldozer but on the contrary, his own two floors of the hotel get blasted. To compete him, Singhania reduces the price of every items in his hotel but wicked Raja understands his trick and starts providing meals free of cost in his dhaba. In the meanwhile, Raja meets with Kiran (Raveena Tondon) who is the daughter of Singhania and falls in love with her. He does not know that Kiran has a different gameplan as she loves Rahul Sinha (Mohnish Behl) but Singhania is not ready to marry her with him. He also said to her that he will marry her daughter with his greatest enemy but not with Rahul as he is a con man. Later Kiran elopes with him and then Rahul alongwith his two companions named Bishambar Nath (Prem Chopra) and Pitambar Nath (Rana Jung Bahadur), shows his true colours. He blackmails Singhania for his property in ransom for his daughter but Raja rescues her. Later Singhania agrees to marry Raja and Kiran.
