Anees Bazmee directed movie ‘Welcome‘ was released under the banner of A.G. Films on December 21st, 2007. The movie is full of action, crime and comedy and the lead roles in the movie were played by Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Paresh Rawal and Nana Patekar whereas the supporting roles were played by Mallika Sherawat, Feroz Khan, Malaika Arora, Asrani, Snehal Dabi, Adi Irani, Supriya Karnik, Mushtaq Khan, Mishra Mahesh, Vijay Raaz etc. The movie was produced by Firoz Nadiadwala whereas the songs of the movie were rendered by Krishna, Shantanu Mukherjee, Soumya Rao, Anand Raj Anand, Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, Himesh Reshammiya and Shweta Pandit. The superhit music of the movie was given by famous Himesh Reshammiya, Anand Raj Anand and duo Sajid-Wajid whereas the movie was written by Anees Bazmee himself. The movie was a superhit comedy.
In the begining of the movie, Dr. Ghunghroo (Paresh Rawal) is in search of a honest girl with whome he can arrange the marriage for Rajiv Saini (Akshay Kumar). Ghunghroo is Rajiv’s maternal uncle who takes care of him after Rajiv’s parents death. One day he comes across a pandit (Mishra Mahesh) who comes to him with a marriage proposal for Rajiv. Then Ghunghroo alongwith his wife (Supriya Karnik) goes to the girl’s house. But there he comes to know about their criminal history and rejects the proposal. Later Rajiv meets Sanjana (Katrina Kaif) in a shopping mall where he goes to save her from fire but on the contrary, she save him. He falls in love with her without knowing that she is the sister of Uday Shetty (Nana Patekar) who is none other than an underworld don in Dubai. His associate named Majnu (Anil Kapoor) is also a don who has a hobby of painting. Uday wants to get married Sanjana to a good person who can take care of her but nobody wants to be associated with a crime family.
Later Majnu meets Rajiv and decides to get marry Rajiv with Sanjana. For this he plays a trick and compells Ghunghroo to give extortion money worth five million rupees. As a result, he is taken to Uday Shetty by Pandit where he tells him the full story. There Uday and Ghunghroo both arranges their sister and nephew’s marriage respectively. But pandit tells him that Uday is a don and this shocks Ghunghroo. The whole family moves to Sun City, South Africa to get away from Uday but Ghunghroo is again shocked to see Majnu there. Also Rajiv meets Sanjana there and both fall in love with each other. Soon the engagement is fixed and there Ghunghroo and Rajiv comes to know that Sanjana is the sister of Uday. The wedding is planned and then Ranvir Dhanraj Xaka alias RDX (Feroz Khan) makes an appearance. A woman claiming to be Rajiv’s child-hood betrothed shows up and the marriage is anulled. Later it comes to know that the woman is Isha (Mallika Sherawat) and best friend of Rajiv.
